Licensing creative content is an economic activity. As a HBART Creator Contributor, income earned from sales in the United States is subject to U.S. withholding tax, unless tax is reduced under a tax treaty.
The Internal Revenue Service (IRS) is the U.S. government agency responsible for collecting taxes and ensuring compliance with tax laws. As a U.S. company, we (and our creators) must comply with U.S. tax laws and provide the appropriate withholding tax forms and tax returns to the IRS. You must complete a tax form to determine if U.S. withholding tax applies to your income.
